"After three months of living in our first Pickett Home, we were happy with the quality of the product and service we’d received. After that short period of time, however, we learned that David would be transferred to Pittsburgh. As it turned out, it wound up being a short stay and we were transferred back to Lexington. We decided to go with Pickett for a new home again.

"There were several things about the Pickett building process that made us want to build a second Pickett home. We enjoyed being able to sit down with David (Toth) to toss around different design ideas and then see him sketch and map out our ideas on his computer system until we found a design that was perfect for us.

"Barbie (Pickett) made it very easy for us to select everything from carpets to countertops. During both of these processes, we liked the fact that a lot of features that seemed like upgrades in other homes in this price range were standard features in a Pickett home.

"Although there were very few problems prior to closing, Pickett Homes made sure everything on our punch list was taken care of by closing. Any issues we had after moving into our home were dealt with promptly."



"When we first decided to buy a home we chose to use a builder other than Pickett Homes. As we asked this builder to make changes to the plan we chose, they either told us they couldn’t make the changes or that the changes would increase the home price so much we wouldn’t want to make them. As a result, we decided to find another builder and found Pickett Homes.

"Our experience with Pickett Homes was the complete opposite. Once we found a plan that we liked we were able to work with them to make several changes—adding brick, moving stuff here and there, primarily cosmetic changes. Throughout the process, the people at Pickett Homes were very cooperative.

"Customer service is their strongest suit. If we had any problems, they were there immediately to take care of them. Then they followed up with us to make sure we were pleased with the results. We were impressed that it wasn’t just the service staff on-site to take care of our needs. Bill Pickett was personally concerned enough about our needs to follow up with us in person."



"Compared to other houses we’ve built, Pickett Homes is extremely easy and fair to work with.

"We were allowed to make changes at appropriate times. The framing was already complete when we bought the home, but we were still able to come in, move some walls and make a few other minor changes.

"We got the results that we’d hoped to get and it didn’t take any arguing back and forth or a lot of paper work. It was very efficient and easy to do. They took care of it all.

"When we did our walk-through prior to closing there were only minor problems, nothing structural. They didn’t argue with us about anything that we felt was inadequate. They simply took care of it. They even found some minor problems themselves that were fixed. The first follow-up punch list was a similar experience: We told them about the minor problems, they verified them and then fixed them.

"We chose Pickett Homes after talking to several other builders. We’re glad we did because we’ve talked to friends who have had problems with other builders. They’ve had to go through a long and drawn out procÃZâä0to get things up to speed. Again, it was a very easy process compared to other houses we’ve built."
